I wasn’t trying to prove anything.
I was just trying to help.
Last week, I jumped in to unload a pallet at work—not because anyone asked, but because I was worried. The younger folks around me didn’t look confident lifting those heavy boxes, and I thought, I’m stronger, I’m healthier. I’ll just take care of it.
I was in a rush. Wearing heels. Trying to do too much.
And just like that, I tripped. My toes folded under my foot, and now I’m in a boot for four weeks. Since it’s my right foot, I can’t even drive.
Frustrating doesn’t begin to cover it.
But this injury gave me clarity I didn’t know I needed.
